Before we talk about the Office 2019 System Requirements, let me first clarify what you get with this release.

Office 2019 is now available on a preview for commercial customers for both Windows and Mac. We do not have a lot of information available on the release dates yet since we are still away from the final release of the product. We expect the version to debut sometime in the latter half of 2018, subject to change. So, how does it differ from a traditional O365 subscription? Well, if you are an existing Office 365 ProPlus customer, you should already be on the latest version of the Office build. Office 2019, on the other hand, is a one-time purchase which gives you access to the 32-bit & 64-bit Windows desktop applications. So, in essence, Office 2019 is a perpetual upgrade to Office 2016.

This release of Office 2019 is ideal for disconnected PCs and Laptops which are not connected to the internet or are installed in a corporate environment.

With the Office 2019 release, you get the following:

• Word 2019
• Excel 2019
• PowerPoint 2019
• Outlook 2019
• OneNote 2019
• Publisher 2019
• Access 2019
• Project Professional 2019 and
• Visio 2019

The new Office 2019 will be released for Windows 10 (and newest LTSC of Windows Server) and Apple Mac OS X (most recent version according to Microsoft) only. Commercial volume license customers may access Office 2019 starting today while all other customers, home users and businesses alike, will be able to buy and install the new version of. Windows 7 Support ends 14-Jan-2020; Office 365: Compatible. The objective of Office 365 is for the end user to automatically upgrade to the newest version when notified. Office 2019 is compatible with Windows 10 and the three most recent versions of macOS. It can't be installed in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1. You must be using Windows 10. Office 2019 as a standalone product is only compatible with Windows 10 Microsoft have now taken to only calling Office 365 products by their name rather than labeling with the year when it is installed e.g. 365 Word is now just called 'Word' and not 'Word 2016'.

On the server side, we expect Microsoft to release the following:

• Exchange Server 2019
• SharePoint Server 2019
• Project Server 2019 with SharePoint 2019 as a prerequisite

Office 2019 System Requirements
